John Harrison

John Harrison is a filmmaker and photographer with a unique ability to document moments of genuine humanity. His poetic, observational style grounds the viewer in a concrete time and place while simultaneously evoking the profound spiritual depth of everyday moments. John's process prioritizes empathetic exploration of daily life over articulating a position, and aims to center the narratives of individuals and communities who have historically been marginalized.

John's work as director, cinematographer, and editor has screened in many of the world’s most prestigious film festivals and won numerous awards, including an Oscar Nomination, two Student Academy Awards, a Special Jury Impact Award, and Jury Prizes from SXSW and Tribeca Film Festival. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Film Production Program (MFA) and lives in Spokane, WA, with his wife and three children.
